Tiruvannamalai: The accused in the Bengaluru acid attack case has finally been arrested by police. The accused has been identified as Nagesh. He was absconding since the acid attack two weeks back. Police arrested Nagesh from Tiruvannamalai district of Tamil Nadu. Nagesh was absconding for two weeks. Initial reports suggest that the accused was taking shelter in an ashram dressed as a swamiji. The accused perpetrated the shocking acid attack on a working woman in Bengaluru on April 28. Bengaluru Police, who was under pressure to arrest the accused, had formed seven special teams to nab the attacker. It was reported that the accused Nagesh was in love with the victim for 7 years. The police also recovered a photograph of the victim from his house.So far, the victim had been operated on two times at Saint John's Hospital. She is still in the ICU and her vitals are normal. The victim will remain in the hospital for one month. The acid attack had inflicted 36 percent burn injuries on her body.Earlier, police had detained Nagesh's elder brother and parents in connection with the case. 20 other persons were also taken into custody. Police had said Nagesh and the victim studied in class 10 in the same school.
