Pandit Shivkumar Sharma aka the sultan of strings passed away earlier this week leaving a void in the hearts of many music lovers. The legendary musician and santoor player died due to cardiac arrest on May 10 at the age of 84. He was cremated with full state honours in the presence of his family members and close friends on Wednesday, May 11. Many celebs mourned the legendary musician's demise and even paid their condolences to the family. A photo, in particular, has gone viral wherein tabla maestro Zakir Hussain bid farewell to his friend as he turned the pallbearer at the funeral. The heartbreaking glimpse showed the Ustad carrying Pandit Shivkumar Sharma's mortal remains to the funeral pyre. Many fans shared videos of the duo's collabs online after the legendary musician's demise. Pandit Shivkumar Sharma was awarded the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 1986, the Padma Shri, India's fourth-highest civilian award in 1991, and the Padma Bhushan, India's third-highest civilian award in 2001. He and Zakir Hussain, one of the greatest tabla players of all time, shared a friendship of almost five decades.
