New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party on Friday alleged that certain portions of Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Adesh Gupta’s residence and office are “illegal” and demanded the civic body to demolish those “unauthorised constructions”. The ruling party also gave a deadline to demolish those constructions by 11 am on Saturday (May 14), failing which, the party will get them razed using bulldozers. Addressing a press conference, senior AAP leader Durgesh Pathak talked about several media reports about the unauthorised constructions at Gupta's residence. Pathak further alleged that the Delhi BJP president’s “political office” in West Patel Nagar also was an “illegal construction” as it was an encroachment on the land of a civic body-run primary school. The party leader also said that AAP had earlier written to the mayor and commissioner of the civic body concerned, seeking a probe into the alleged unauthorised constructions at Gupta’s residence and office. However, no action was taken in this regard, he said. “This can't be done anymore. I demand the BJP-ruled MCD that the unauthorised constructions at Gupta's residence and his illegal political office be demolished tomorrow by 11 am,” Pathak said. The leader said, failing to do so, the AAP will bulldoze those constructions. “Else, we will go to his residence taking bulldozers and bring down the unauthorised constructions there. We will also take action against his illegal office,” he added. Meanwhile, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will hold a key meeting with all AAP MLAs on Saturday amid the ongoing anti-encroachment drives conducted by the civic bodies in the national capital, reported news agency PTI. The meeting will begin at 11 am on Saturday at Kejriwal's official residence in Civil Lines. The AAP has been protesting against the anti-encroachment drives conducted by the BJP-ruled civic bodies. The three civic bodies in Delhi have been conducting demolition drives in a number of areas, including Shaheen Bagh, Madanpur Khadar, New Friends Colony, Mangol Puri, Karol Bagh, Khyala and Lodhi Colony in the past few days.
